How to create a timeless wreath all year round
Having a wreath will always brighten any door no matter what time of year it is. It adds a fresh and light charm to your home, plus it takes less than 20 minutes to make! They are also great if you’re hosting a dinner or having a special occasion at home; wreaths go far beyond their traditional festive association. It’s also a really great way of bringing nature into your home without the hassle of looking after plants.
Wreaths shouldn’t be used just for the holiday season! They can be for all year round - it just depends what type of flowers and ribbons you choose to use. Obviously having a red or metallic ribbon during the winter months is a classic but using either a blue, green or orange is stunning for summer. In spring using pink, yellow and a soft green is delightful ( you could even add little eggs around Easter). You could also use leafy stems (such as bay, eucalyptus or olive stems) to give your wreath more of a rustic feel.
Supplies:
Neutral or white flowers
String
1 metre Ribbon (depending on the size of the wreath)
A metal or wooden hoop
Instructions:
Wind the string around the metal base until the whole ring is wrapped in string and tie the ends of the string together where they meet. Add the flower stems in between the string and the base - just keep adding and layering until you’re happy with how thick the wreath is. Tie any loose stems that might be sticking out with additional string. Finally tie the ribbon in the middle at the bottom in a decorative bow.
