A delicious recipe for Chai latte
There’s something magical about the changing colours of the leaves, the crisp air, cosy jumpers, and the smell of wood-burning fireplaces. And when the weather gets colder, there’s nothing better than a chai latte; it really lets you indulge in a little comfort. It’s such a perfect drink for the cosy season. Warming spices with a hint of sweetness can really boost your mood on those dreary days.
Chai lattes can be served hot or cold, and are a delicious and comforting drink that can be enjoyed year-round. Whether it’s a pick me up for the morning or for a wind down in the afternoon, it’s a coffee alternative that warms your soul and puts you in an autumnal mood. There’s nothing better than snuggling up with a chai in your favourite mug.
Why it’s so good
As well as being yummy it also helps to reduce inflammation. Plus all the spices in chai stimulate circulation, which give you a lovely natural glow - you’ll feel good from the inside out. Home made chai lattes are so delicious! Usually if you order one from a cafe on the high street it’s always way too sweet. It’s super simple to make and you can just use store cupboard spices. Plus whilst you’re making the chai latte, your kitchen will smell like heaven!
Ingredients
Two cups of milk (we like to use oat milk, but you can also use dairy or other alternatives)
Black tea bags (such as darjeeling)
One teaspoon ground cinnamon
Half teaspoon ground ginger
A quarter teaspoon ground cloves
A pinch of teaspoon ground cardamom
Half a teaspoon teaspoon vanilla extract
Recipe
Pour the milk in a saucepan and allow it to warm up over medium heat. Once it starts simmering, turn it off and add in the tea for around four to five minutes. Then remove the tea bags. Turn on the heat back to medium, and add the cinnamon, ginger, cloves, cardamom and vanilla. Whisk it all together until it’s perfectly hot.
Pour the chai into a nice mug and just sprinkle a dash of cinnamon on top.
Enjoy!
